How many times have you made a New Year's Resolution, only to be derailed really quickly because you had no plan? Back On Track 2020 gives you everything you need to succeed. From setting yourself up for success, to meal plans and recipes, accountability, support and the science behind the system, it's all here.
While we give you everything you need to succeed, you still play a part in choosing your own adventure. We are going to tackle the "Three Big Tickets" - Sugar, Grains, and Dairy, by temporarily removing them from your eating plan and replacing them with healthy, whole food alternatives. You can take it one (four?) steps further by investigating how caffeine, alcohol, legumes and soy affect how you feel. Then you can put your newfound knowledge into action every day.
The big reason for doing the 21-Day Nutrition Challenge is to identify the foods you currently eat that could be the cause of chronic health and weight problems. The idea is to give your body a break from the common food allergies/sensitivities. The goal is to see if you start to see a lessening or a total disappearance of your symptoms or your weight starts to drop. Give yourself 21-Days to investigate how foods make you feel. You might be surprised how much better you can feel all year long!
We believe science demonstrates nutrition is the gateway to good health. Science confirms what years of nutrition coaching experience has shown us; what you eat has a more direct impact on your health than any other single factor.
Improvements in everything from athletic performance to injury rehabilitation to body composition can be best realized through good nutrition. In other words, you can train hard, sleep well, practice active recovery techniques and eliminate stress, but if you are not incorporating good nutrition practices consistently you will always fall short of your health potential.
You’ve come here to change your life. That could be change your body, change your performance, or change your overall well-being. You’re willing to challenge yourself mentally and physically. A part of being healthy is found in the gym but the biggest difference is what you do the other 23 hours. If you train hard and work hard in the kitchen to make healthy food choices, you will increase your rate of improvement exponentially.
A good nutrition program should be centered around eating real food. Fad diets, miracle pills, and meal replacements are not a part of a balanced path towards improved health. You shouldn’t have to count calories, measure forever, and write down each bite in a diary for the rest of your life. That is daunting. Putting together good food in a manner that is simple, intuitive, and sustainable will give you tangible benefits.
It's also why we start this challenge later in January. We want the euphoria of the New Year to "wear off" a bit before we start. We found that starting too early meant a lot of people dropped out early, and that just isn't what we are looking for - quick sales off the New Year High and then no follow through.

In your "Back On Track 2020" 21+ Day Nutrition Challenge Guide and File Folder, we’ve given you all the tools you need to succeed:
Dates: Jan 29-Feb 2
1. Kitchen Clean-Up. Here is where we setup what you have some control over, your pantry and kitchen, for success. By removing food that tempts us and is not on the challenge, and replacing them with healthier choices that support what we are doing, we create a key component to building lasting change - optimizing your environment. I've said it many times; I don't have any more willpower than the next person. If it's in the house I'll eat it. Not having it in the house has been key to losing weight, keeping it off, and feeling a whole lot better than when I eat junk!
2. Menu Mapping. The second key to success is planning. Don't leave your meals to chance. Plan all of them for the 21-days you will be doing the challenge. Will it take you a few minutes? Absolutely. But you'll be rewarded back ten-fold with the time and energy it will save you during the challenge. Don't skip this step!

Here is where we get busy. We'll be working on eliminating the "Three Big Tickets" from our eating over this 3-week period. A lot of us don't know how bad we really feel until we start to feel better. By temporarily removing Sugar, Grains, and Dairy from our eating plan, we can discover which if any of those is making us feel lousy. It's like hitting your thumb with a hammer; if it hurts, why would you keep doing it? The same thing can happen with what we are eating, and most of the time we don't even know it. Here's how we can find out! You will also have the option to investigate how caffeine, alcohol, legumes and soy affect how you feel.
Besides the eating plan and accompanying recipes, you'll get 21 Days of the "Why?" behind what we are doing, delivered to you through the MyCoach app via your device or email.
Dates: Feb 24 - March 1
Remember, we said that removal of these foods were temporary. It is not realistic to think that you can or should avoid certain foods forever (although in some cases that may be recommended). However we want to continue our investigation into how these certain foods make us feel. For instance I used to eat Greek Yogurt every morning for breakfast. Something was making me feel "off", so I decided to stop eating dairy for a few weeks. I discovered really fast that Greek Yogurt and I don't get along so well when I tried to eat it and the results were, well, unpleasant. This was good to know, and there is plenty I can eat for breakfast that doesn't send me running, if you know what I mean! We'll show you exactly how to re-introduce these foods and keep track of any symptoms they may cause.

You'll also get an invite into the private "Back On Track 2020" Facebook group, and link to a folder that contains all the files and resource guide.
On Monday January 27th you'll get a reminder that the challenge is about to start, as well as a sneak preview of the first "Kitchen Clean-Up" lesson so you can get a head start. The first MyCoach nutrition lesson will start Wednesday January 29, 2020.
We are also encouraging you to getting a starting and ending weight by stepping on a scale or coming in for an InBody scan.
